Welcome, and thank you for joining us!
We live just outside a small town in Manitoba, Canada, on my husband’s childhood family farm. In 2019, we celebrated becoming a century farm—100 years of farming the same land! We’re proud to be the 4th generation on this land, and we hope our children will carry on the legacy as the 5th generation one day.
While a lot has changed since the first generation, we’re proud of how far we’ve come, especially with the diversity and sustainability we’ve built here on the farm. From livestock to handmade products, we’ve embraced new opportunities and found our way toward a more self-sufficient lifestyle.
Our Farm Today
Our farm now includes a 100-head beef cow operation, and we’re actively expanding by building our own herd. We also have a 20 ewe/lambing operation and 5-7 dairy goats that we hand-milk to create my line of artisan goat milk soaps and bath products. Though I’m not yet working with alpaca and sheep wool for knitting, I fully intend to utilize their fleece in the future. Along with pigs for pork and lard, laying hens, meat chickens, turkeys, peafowl, muscovy ducks, and 3 horses, we also have 3 dogs, 6 bunnies (5 outside and 1 inside), and even some fish in the house!
Our gardens and fruit-producing bushes and trees continue to grow, and we’re always looking for more space to increase our yield. The goal is to be as self-sustaining as possible, so our freezers and shelves are always full of our own meat, vegetables, and fruit, and our fridge is stocked with fresh milk. We no longer worry about running out of milk if a storm keeps us from town—it’s a small blessing we cherish!
My Journey to Where I Am Now
What started as a simple dream to live a more connected, sustainable life has blossomed into a multi-faceted business. Alongside our farm, I partnered with a mental wellness company that I tried because I desperately needed to feel better. The results were life-changing—I’m now experiencing better emotional balance, reduced anxiety, and a sense of peace that has given me more clarity and focus. These holistic supplements have transformed my wellness, and I’m proud to share them with others who may need the same support.
Digital marketing also gave me the confidence to leave my former career as a registered veterinary technician. I now mentor others through my digital marketing blueprint, helping people build their own automated businesses and achieve the time and financial freedom I now enjoy.
As an author, I have many works in progress across multiple genres, from practical guides to personal stories, and I’m excited to continue writing. Sharing my experiences and knowledge is a passion, and I hope my books can inspire and empower others on their journeys.
What You’ll Find Here
Through this blog, I want to share everything I’ve learned along the way—whether it’s livestock tips, gardening hacks, food preservation, gluten-free recipes (including sourdough, fermented foods, and home dairy recipes), or handmade crafts and DIY projects. There’s nothing more satisfying than being able to provide for yourself and your family, and I hope to inspire others to embrace the same fulfillment and independence.
