Love ketchup but want a healthier alternative?! Try this healthier gluten free homemade version of ketchup using fresh garden produce and packing in extra nutritional content!
I love making new things with stuff from my gardens and trying to make something that i like better than what you can buy at the store and this ketchup hits the spot.

Ingredients;
- 1 head of garlic
- 1 onion
- 5-7 lbs of tomatoes
- 1 beet
- 1-2 carrots
- 4 celery sticks
- bunch of fresh parsley
- pepper to taste
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp cloves
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 cup vinegar
Instructions;
- Prep ingredients as needed, wash, peel, chop roughly
- Throw all ingredients (except the sugar and vinegar) into a pot and boil down for a while until fairly thick
- Blend up with an immersion blender is best, strain out the seeds and stuff if you want it really smooth)
- Once its cooked down enough and blended up you can add the sugar and vinegar
- Taste it to make sure you don’t need to tweak it before canning or freezing
- If freezing use a ice cube tray to have smaller portions then when taking it out to use put in jar to thaw in fridge
- If canning, put into sterilized mason jars, leave 1/2 inch head space, make sure you seal it properly before canning, then water can bath for 10 mins, let it cool, make sure it sealed (popped) or else use it right away (or freeze)
I always label with date and contents! Makes things easier!
Enjoy this ketchup like you would a store brand ketchup! Everyone has different preferences and this is definitely mine!
